Noise Ninja v2.2.0 Now Available

An updated version of the Noise Ninja standalone application is now available courtesy PictureCode. Noise Ninja v2.2.0 is available for both Mac and Windows OS and features a new batch processing function called Sidekick Mode. The Sidekick Mode programs other applications, like Photo Mechanic to send in images for noise removal processing. You can download it from here.

Picture Window 5.0 Released

Digital Light & Color have released the latest upgrade of Picture Window Pro. Picture Window 5.0 includes new editing features like Color Remap for changing selected colors and 2 and 3 Zone transformations, which lets you divide images by their tonality range. The upgrade now also includes a Raw Converter and a host of new automation and batch processing features.

WnSoft recently announced the PicturesToExe Deluxe 5.6 application that lets you create slides which can be executed as screensaver (.SCR) files, HD video, DVD video disc or iPhone video. It supports 3D effects and Pan/Zoom effects and one can also password protect a slide show or assign an expiration date. PicturesToExe Deluxe 5.6 runs under Windows 2000/XP/Vista and requires 256-MB RAM and DirectX 9 or higher. The Deluxe edition is available for $75.

Momail Integrates Flickr

Momail (www.momail.com ) has integrated a Flickr plug-in into its mobile email service that enhances photo sharing and searching using the mobile phone. All images sent to the mobile via the Flickr search andthe download functions are automatically optimized for the individual handset via Momail's patented MMOPE-technology. The service is available in all Nordic countries, Austria, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Montenegro, Spain, Switzerland, Poland and UK.

HP iPrint Photo Application

The HP iPrint Photo is a new free application that is available on the Apple App Store. Via the application, iPhone and iPod touch customers can easily print photos anytime,anywhere. The application is fully compatible with Apple's Bonjour technology and one can print 4x6-inch photos using HP inkjet printers connected to a local Wi-Fi network.

The new version of Digimarc for Images is now available and coincides with the release of Adobe Creative Suite 4. The application places a permanent invisible digital identifier (digital watermark) into photographs and other images. The new version of Digimarc for Images includes several enhancements in response to customer feedback:

* Improved robustness for image format transformations, resizing and compression
* Expanded support for international customers with the addition of seven new languages (Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Turkish and Ukrainian), for a total of 22 available languages

Nikon Capture NX2 - 2.1.0 Released

Nikon today released an update for Capture NX2. The Nikon Capture NX2 - 2.1.0 brings on the following changes:

Modifications enabled with 2.1.0:

    * Support for RAW images captured with the D90 has been added.
    * An Extra High item has been added to the Active D-Lighting pulldown menu under Camera Settings in the Develop section of the Edit List. This option is only available for RAW images captured with any setting other than Off selected for Active D-Lighting in the camera's Shooting Menu.
    * Image Dust Off reference photos acquired with cameras sch as the D3 and D300 are applied more effectively.
    * An issue theat caused Picture COntrol settings to be improperly applied with the following operation has been resolved:
    *
          o The D2XMODE1 Picture Control is applied to an image from the Picture Control options under Camera Settings in the Develop section of the Edit List, and a settings file is saved from the image. (optional Landscape/Portrait Controls not yet installed).
          o The optional Landscape and/or Portrait Picture Control(s) is installed.
          o The settings file saved in step 1 is used for batch processing.

Fluid Mask 3 Reviewed by Photography Blog

Jon Canfield from the Photography Blog reviews the Fluid Mask 3 from Vertus Software that is available both as a plug-in and as a stand-alone application. Fluid Mask’s main task is to make cutting or extracting parts of an image without any slick maneuvering.

Version 3 was found to be more intuitive and easy to use and works flawlessly with Photoshop/ The additions of Patch tools, Global brush, and the on board Protect option simplify the process further. Though the application does take a little time of getting used to it, over all its quite a good investment says Canfield.
