The KODAK s1220 Photo Scanning System claims to be an out of the box solution for converting prints to digital images. These converted images can be used for archiving images to CDs, DVDs and uploading to photo Web sites, including KODAK Gallery. Available via Kodak's online store, the s1220 Photo Scanning System retails for $1,795 and includes a desktop photo scanner, as well as photo processing software.

Hamrick Software yesterday announced the availability of the new VueScan 8.4.60 scanning software. The latest version now includes support for skew correction that can straightened any photo which as straightened.
VueScan is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux and is available in two editions, Standard Edition ($39.95 USD) and Professional Edition ($79.95). The Professional Edition adds unlimited free upgrades, advanced IT8 color calibration and support for raw scan files.
