The Olympus  E-3 DSLR is going to space! Olympus is commemorating its 90th anniversary by launching the Olympus Space Project where Dr. Koichi Wakata, a Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut, will take images of the earth with the Olympus E-3 throughout his three-month mission on the ISS.

June 12, 2008 - Olympus today announced a firmware update for the E-3 DSLR. The update, available from Olympus' website, seeks to "optimize the consistency of the auto white balance on the E-3," according to an Olympus release.

Users can download the free firmware update by connecting their E-3 to a computer via USB cord. The firmware update is automatically available through Olympus' Master 2 software. For more information or directions on how to download the update, visit Olympus' Q&A website.
