by Tanya Palta

Cameras.co.uk recently reviewed the Panasonic DMC LX3 and the wide-angle beauty impressed the reviewer. The LX3 has a comprehensive feature set and the camera also produced impressive set of photos. Images were detailed and the camera also offers HD video recording.

Expert from conclusion:
“The Panasonic DMC LX3 gives you that bit of extra all round quality. It compares well with other cameras in its niche. Panasonic have included some nice touches in the design. If you are looking for a camera with an ultra wide angle lens then this is a very good choice.”

The high-end camera was found to be a great buy thanks to its image quality, its attractive design, its f/2.0 lens with optical image stabilization and RAW support. However the LX3 does have its faults as the reviewer wasn’t to impressed with its low resolution Menu and weak macro performance.

Digital Camera Info Reviews Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3

added on 2008-10-19 02:34:00
by Tanya Palta

Tim Barribeau from Digital Camera Info reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, which is a high-end compact camera. The LX3 failed to impress and is called “frustrating”. According to the review, the $500 price tag is not justified since the LX3 is mediocre performance wise. Images were found to be noisy,  the menu system poorly designed and the DPOF support is also minimal.

Excerpt from conclusion:

“It's a camera we want to love: if it cost less we would be more forgiving of the mediocre test results. But for $500, we expect something better, and as much we admire the aesthetics, feel and control offered by the LX3, it costs too much and performs too poorly.”

Pocket Lint Reviews Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3

by Tanya Palta

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 digital camera got tested by the folks over at Pocket Lint and lets see how this high end compact camera fared. The reviewer had a pre production model at his disposable and hence performance may not be up to standard to the final model.

The images produced by the LX3 wee found to be a little soft but noise is minimal thanks to the new ultra sensitive sensor. Another area where the camera scored was its construction, which was found to be solid and stylish.

Excerpt from review:
“The Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3 is a beautiful little camera that offers a host of features including MEGA O.I.S, Panasonic’s optical image stabilising technology and a superb lens. And although this is a pre-production model, at last a manufacturer has created a sensor that is designed to provide high image quality, not noise.”

Shutterbug Reviews Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10

added on 2008-03-28 02:03:00
by Tanya Palta

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 gets reviewed by Shutterbug and feels that it will  be a hit among beginners. Its may not be the fastest DSLR on the market however it does have a great AF system and the images in ISO 100 and 200 are quite impressive.

The L10 has some great features including; a nine subject-specific Program modes, a few additional menu items and an articulated (not fixed) LCD screen. The live preview display also doesn’t disappoint and high magnification of any subject area is possible, for confirming precise focus. The camera switches to a very sophisticated 256 segment (vs. the usual 49 segment) metering system; that can provide more accurate exposures.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 Reviewed by Steves Digicam

Steve from Steves Digicam did an in-depth review of the Lumix DMC-L10 and appreciates its comprehensive feature set. The entry level DSRL boasts of a "Live View" mode with a 9 point AF system and face detection, which only helps in enhancing the photography experience. The addition of the Leica D Vario 14 - 50mm Lens with O.I.S. coming as the kit lens makes the camera a worthwhile buy since the L10 doesn’t disappoint on the performance front.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 Reviewed by Lets Go Digital

added on 2008-01-05 13:58:00
by Tanya Palta

The  Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 was reviewed by Lets Go Digital recently and looks like Panasonic’s second ever DSLR left quite an impression. Some purists may sneer at the addition of a Live View LCD on a DSLR, but the reviewer feels that Panasonic made a wise decision. The inclusion of a  Live View on a free-angle LCD screen makes its “revolutionary” it opens the door to more possibilities and new perspectives.

In the end  the L10 emerges as a winner and LGD goes on to say:
“If you look at camera functions and what you can do with them this camera stands at the top of the entry level dslr list.”

Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 Reviewed by DP Review

added on 2007-12-14 10:21:00
by Richard Baguley

DP Review have just published their review of the Lumix DMC-L10, the latest Four Thirds digital SLR from Panasonic. They think it's a big improvement on the L1 (which we reviewed here); the handling is improved, the live view (where you can get a live preview on the LCD screen) works well and the 10.1 effective megapixel sensor captured good quality images, especially shooting in RAW.  But the reviewer Simon Joinson thought that the L10 was rather expensive (at $1299 with the kit lens), and was lacking the customizability features that high-end digital SLR users expect.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 Review

added on 2007-11-24 09:00:00
by Tanya Palta

Photography Blog got their hands on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 DSLR, which seeks to make a place for itself in a world obsessed with Canon and Nikon. The DSLR strength lies in its Leica Kit lens, free-angle LCD screen and advanced Live View mode.

However the Leica kit is also its Achilles heel since the L10 becomes an expensive camera for beginners. However if you have some extra change lying around then the reviewer “highly recommends” the L10.
