Linux users can now be privy to the goodness of the popular LightZone Imaging Software as the company just released a Linux version. The LightZone Linux 3.3 can be downloaded for free at http://www.lightcrafts.com/linux.
The Beta version just like the Mac and Windows versions includes the ZoneMapper and Zone Tools, which are based on the (in) famous Zone System by legendary photographer Ansel Adams. For the uninitiated, Zone Mapped looks for similar exposure areas within a photo and the Zone Tool adjusts these tonal groups.
Light Crafts, the company behind the critically acclaimed LightZone™ photo editing software, announced LightZone 3.2. The upgrade is compatible with Apple OS X Leopard operating system and also adds support for cameras like; Canon PowerShot G9 and Canon 40D (sRAW); Leica V-LUX 1; Olympus EVOLT E-510; Panasonic DMC-FZ18; and Sony DSLR-A700. Support for the recently announced Nikon D3, D300 and the Olympus E-3 cameras are expected to be available soon.
LightZone 3.2 is available for purchase and downloads at http://www.lightcrafts.com. The price is $249.95 for the Full version and $149.95 for the Basic version.
