Fuji Finepix S8100 FD Reviewed

added on 2008-12-27 21:53:00
by Tanya Palta

Cameras.co.uk reviewed the Fuji Finepix S8100 FD, which is a mid-range super zoom digital camera. The digicam works because of its cheap price tag and overall performance was found to be quite decent. The S8100 has a decent feature set but image noise was quite noticeable at higher ISOs.

Excerpt from conclusion:
“The Fuji Finepix S8100 is a bit cheaper than many of its competitors. Taking this into account when looking at the quality of the photos it produces means it offers decent value for money. There is not a great deal to choose between a lot of these super zoom cameras and I am sure this camera will sell well.”

Photography Blog Reviews Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD

added on 2008-10-10 05:47:00
by Tanya Palta

Photography Blog has reviewed the newly announced Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD and to read the full review go here. The ultra-zoom compact digital camera comes equipped with a 5x optical zoom lens and was found to be a great alternative to a DSLR.Images are acceptable and the camera is not complicated which makes it an ideal prosumer camera.

Excerpt from review:
“The fact that the 15x zoom can be used in both video and stills modes is a bonus, and the quality of the video, although not quite full HD, is certainly better than that usually found on superzooms – and another reason perhaps for a compact user to upgrade to this model rather than a fully blown DSLR (unless going for a Nikon D90 or Canon 5D Mark II, not really the same target market).”

Trusted Reviews on Fujifilm Finepix S8100fd

added on 2008-05-18 09:55:00
by Tanya Palta

Trusted Reviews tested out the Fujifilm Finepix S8100fd, which seeks to replace the DSLR. The camera is ideal for those who want to break free from point and shooters but don’t want to get into the hassles of DSLRs.

The Fujifilm Finepix S8100fd is lightweight, fast and produces decent image quality. It offers a multitude of features that would only enhance the photography experience and the long focal length  of the lens ensures that one doesn’t need crave a DSLR. However noise was apparent in ISOs higher than 400 and the EVF  is a major disappointment.

Verdict:
“Image quality is hit-or-miss, with horrible high ISO images and some aggressive sharpening. At lower ISOs images are better, but I find the majority of images too digital looking, lacking the finesse of some other models.”

T3 Reviews Fujifilm Finepix S100FS

added on 2008-05-05 03:06:00
by Tanya Palta

T3 decided to pay some attention to the Fujifilm Finepix S100FS and were mighty impress by its super zoom lens. The Face detection feature also worked like a charm and even the red-eye removal technology was found to be objective.

The Fujifilm Finepix S100FS with its 14X zoom can handle a number of photography situations and is ideal for those who want to move away from compact camera but don’t want to deal with complicated DSLRs. The only gripe T3 has with the fast shooter were its chunky body and weak viewfinder.

Conclusion:
“Fujifilm really, really wants to make an affordable and simple bridge clicker. Come back when they do”.
