Shutterbug recently reviewed the Olympus E-30 and their analyses focuses heavily on the camera’s “Art Filters” and Multiple Exposure function. The E-30 was found to have an impressive feature set and the compact body easy to handle. The large LCD preview screen works great and image quality in both Raw and JPEG modes turned out to be impressive.

Steve Morgenstern from DCI was able to test out the newly announced Olympus E-620 and head over here to check our first impressions review. The Olympus E-620 not only works for point and shoot users but also for serious amateurs. The body may be smaller than other DSLR however the camera doe offer full manual exposure controls and extensive customization.
"Working with a pre-production sample of a camera, particularly when it's a good two months from ship date, is no way to draw buy-don't buy conclusions, but we are genuinely intrigued by the unusual Olympus E-620."

A patent application (US 2008/0180565), which was recently published makes it clear that Canon are indeed working on a fuel cell DSLR. The fuel would act as a single source of power and here is an excerpt from the patent:
. . . an electronic equipment system in which fuel cells are provided to an electronic equipment body [ed., a DLSR body] and a connection device [ed., a hotshoe flash] connected to the electronic equipment body, and in which detection of a battery remaining amount and control of electric power supply can be performed under unified management [ed., one fuel cell], thereby enabling simplification of the electronic equipment system and improvement of power generation efficiency thereof. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 gets reviewed by Shutterbug and feels that it will be a hit among beginners. Its may not be the fastest DSLR on the market however it does have a great AF system and the images in ISO 100 and 200 are quite impressive.
The L10 has some great features including; a nine subject-specific Program modes, a few additional menu items and an articulated (not fixed) LCD screen. The live preview display also doesn’t disappoint and high magnification of any subject area is possible, for confirming precise focus. The camera switches to a very sophisticated 256 segment (vs. the usual 49 segment) metering system; that can provide more accurate exposures.

Fantasea updated their portfolio by adding 3 new underwater housings for Nikon digital cameras. However the one which interests us is the FD-40x for the newly released Nikon D60 DSLR. The FD-40x will be retailing for $1,099 and has a travel to depth of 200 feet (60 meters).
The onboard Double O-ring seals let one easily access the camera controls and the stainless steel latching buckles prevents water from seeping into the plastic housing.
For more information, visit Fantasea’s website.

Steve from Steves Digicam did an in-depth review of the Lumix DMC-L10 and appreciates its comprehensive feature set. The entry level DSRL boasts of a "Live View" mode with a 9 point AF system and face detection, which only helps in enhancing the photography experience. The addition of the Leica D Vario 14 - 50mm Lens with O.I.S. coming as the kit lens makes the camera a worthwhile buy since the L10 doesn’t disappoint on the performance front.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 was reviewed by Lets Go Digital recently and looks like Panasonic’s second ever DSLR left quite an impression. Some purists may sneer at the addition of a Live View LCD on a DSLR, but the reviewer feels that Panasonic made a wise decision. The inclusion of a Live View on a free-angle LCD screen makes its “revolutionary” it opens the door to more possibilities and new perspectives.
In the end the L10 emerges as a winner and LGD goes on to say:
“If you look at camera functions and what you can do with them this camera stands at the top of the entry level dslr list.”
