The National Park Foundation (NPF) and Olympus recently announced a new photo contest. The 2009 Share the Experience Photo Contest will run from May 4, 2009 through December 31, 2009 and will accept entries that have been taken in any of the national parks in the United States.
The Grand Prize winner’s picture will grace the cover of the 2011 "Federal Recreation Lands Pass," and he/she will also win an Olympus E-3 digital single lens reflex (DSLR) Camera Kit, plus a five-day, four-night trip for four to the Federal Recreation Area of their choice.
National Geographic and Energizer have announced the second installment of the “Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest”. To participate in the contest one has to send a photo in one of six thematic categories: animals/wildlife, nature, travel, people and cultures, weather and inspiration/Keep Going. The 12 photos designated a Category Finalist will be posted online at nationalgeographic.com/energizer on Aug. 14, and voting will extend through Sept. 15.
The 3rd F/STOP International Photography Festival is now accepting submissions from photographers. This year's international competition is called "Where do we go from here?" and deadline for sending your work is 20th April 2009. The winners of the contest will be invited to the world's biggest portfolio review in Houston,Texas (USA) to present his/her work to famous directors, curators and artists.

The contest is divided into two topics; Best Purchased Postcard and Best Created Postcard. The first contest category asks people to buy a postcard at their place and write a witty or humorous message on its back. or the second category people should create a postcard of their own.
The Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009 photo contest is now open for entries. Last day for entry is 27 March (20 March for postal entries) and this year prize money is £10,000 for the overall winner and up to £1,000 for the category winners. Entry is free for the three youth categories, 10 years and under, 11–14 years and 15–17 years.

The 2009 Sony Campaign Award is a new photography based competition where the theme is “football”. The closing date for the Sony Campaign Award is 28th February 2009 and prizes include a Sony α900 DSLR camera, tickets to 2010 World Cup game and unique chance to be a Sony photographer.
The Kenko Group, which includes companies like Kenko, Slik tripods and Hoya filters have announced an international filter competition . The competition is open to anyone who has taken a photograph using any type of filter as entries are not restricted to just Kenko or Hoya filter users. There is a new photography contest in the air however this one is restricted to only Tamron users. The 2008 Share the Experience Photo Contest is a new photography competition by the National Park Foundation and Olympus in partnership with the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service.

The results for the 2008 Fujifilm Student Awards are in and the lucky winner is one David Wala from Newcastle College. Wala’s winning picture will now grace the cover of the re-issued version of Ralph Ellison’s 1952 masterpiece, Invisible Man. He also won £200 of Fujifilm Professional film, a library of 100 Penguin Classics titles and a copy of the book, ‘Seven Hundred Penguins’.
The opening date of the Nikon Photo Contest International 2008-2009 has been announced. Nikon will accept entries from 1 September to 30 November 2008. The theme of the competition is At the Heart of the Image and the contest will have town two categories. In the first ‘Free Subject’ category, photographers can submit any image that ignites from their imagination.

Life's an Adventure National Parks is a new photography competition launched by National Geographic Traveler magazine. The "Life's an Adventure: National Parks" Reader Photography Contest begins May 29, 2008 and ends August 22, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Entries must be received by August 31, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. EDT to be eligible. The contest is open to only U.S. citizens.
A new online photo contest has been announced by Renegade Photo Shoots. The theme is 'Not Normal’ and once can submit their interpretations online during the timeframe July 9 to August 6, 2008.

Olympus has announced a new contest, which would entail one lucky winner a VIP Pass for two to the European Grand Prix. Customers who take an E-System Test Drive in store have to fill out an entry form and ensure that the salesperson fills out his section, as both will receive the same prize. The promotion will run throughout the summer with the cut off date for entries being 12th September 2008.
House in Focus is a new global photography competition announced by Sydney Opera House and HP. The grand winner will get a chance to exhibit their winning shot at the Sydney Opera House, and will also win a HP TouchSmart PC.
Two runners up will receive a large scale canvas of their image, a roof tile from Sydney Opera House and a book, Building a masterpiece: the Sydney Opera House. Last date for submissions is July 30, 2008 and the winners will be announced on August 18, 2008.
Another photography contest for young adults was announced recently in the UK. The RSPCA Young Photographer Awards 2008 (YPA08), sponsored by Olympus and printing company Warners Midlands is now accepting entries by anyone aged under 19 on 1 September 2008.
The theme is animals and the competition is divided into four categories: under 12 years, 12 to 18 years, pet personalities and the Olympus portfolio.The deadline for entries is Monday 1 September 2008. More information, winning entries from previous years and top tips from wildlife photographer Chris Packham and RSPCA chief photographer Andrew Forsyth are available by logging on to http://www.rspca.org/ypa.

Amateur photographer Jan Kostal of the Czech Republic is the grand prize winner of the Canon Fan Foto online competition. His image titled Muddy Playground, Bangladesh” was chosen by a panel of experts from Canon and Getty Images. In this particular contest any football related photo could be uploaded, and visitors to the site could rate their favourites using a simple ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ system.

ILFORD announced the sponsorship of the fourth edition of the festival Triestèfotografia. The Triestèfotografia is a photography exhibition and competition that will begin in Trieste, Italy, on the 24th of June, 2008 and continue with a series of exhibitions in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany and Austria that will run until September, 2008.

Canon USA has announced a new competition to inspire the naturalist within all of us. The Canon Photography In The Parks Photo Contest invites participants to submit images of any park or monument in the USA from April 22nd to September 30th, 2008. Canon is also enhancing the photo contest by extending the age range of eligible participants to non-professional photographers ages 13 and up.

The names of the finalists for the Garden Photographer of the Year 2008 contest have been put up on the website http://www.igpoty.com, so don’t forget to check if made it or not.
The Finalists’ photographs will be showcased on 22 May, at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The New Photographers Association of Canada Photo Competition was one the many competitions announced in the last few months. NPAC has now announced the finalists for the NPAC 2007 Pictures of the Year competition and one can check out if their images made the cut by visiting the image gallery. Finalists were selected from more than 2,200 images.
Another photography contest to be recently announced was the Rainforest Alliance ‘Picture Sustainability Photo Contest’. The contest is being sponsored by Fujifilm and is open to only US residents.
