myfabrik lite Offers Free File Hosting

November 21, 2006 - File host Fabrik Inc. announced yesterday the launch of the free myfabrik lite service, offering users 1GB of online storage space for files, photos, videos, music, slideshows, and photostrips.

myfabrik, headquartered in California, is based around the idea that a small business could be a truly paperless office or that a family historian could store all their data in one place. “Computers get replaced every few years but our personal media and the memories they evoke live on and on. Fabrik provides a way to manage and access your content independent of your aging boxes,” states the Fabrik website.

myfabrik lite acts as a file manager, sharer, and as storage for digital data which has become increasingly necessary, according to the site. myfabik, like other file hosts, alleviates the problem of clogged email accounts, creates one storage place for multiple media, and provides easier access to data. Fabrik faces competition from other existing file-hosting sites, including Badongo, Sharpcast, and Weblife, some with subscription fees and some free.

Fabrik also has subscription-based accounts of up to 100GB at 49 cents per gigabyte, available at http://www.myfabrik.com/register/index.php.
