Sony Alpha A57 First Impressions Review

We took Sony's sub-$1000, 10fps speed demon, the A57 DSLR, for a spin around New York City.

Introduction

The Sony Alpha A57 is the latest SLT interchangeable lens camera from Sony. Replacing the A55, the Alpha A57 features the same pellicle mirror technology, allowing for fast shot-to-shot speeds and phase-detection autofocus even while recording video. Sony claims this results in 10fps continuous shooting while continuously focusing on a moving subject. The camera also features 1080/60p, a 3-inch swivel screen, 15-point AF, and a 16.1-megapixel EXMOR CMOS image sensor. The A57 is set to ship at the end of April for a body-only price of $699.99.
