ScanCafé Announces ProZone for Professional Photographers

August 1, 2007 – Just two weeks after its initial launch, photo scanning site ScanCafé has launched ProZone, a section devoted to helping professional photographers utilize its services.

With ProZone, photos can be saved in TIFF format and scanned at up to 4000 dpi (3000 dpi is standard for pro users), and users may personally manage their account as a large-volume customer. Similar to the basic packages offered, ProZone users can have their photos color corrected, cropped, and touched up; negative and slide scanning, as well as extensive restoration, are available at additional charge.

'We encourage photographers and hobbyists to test out ScanCafé and let us know what they think," said Sam Allen, CEO of ScanCafé, in a press release. "If we aren't the easiest, most time and money saving scanning service out there, let us know what we need to do to get there.'

Pricing for the ProZone service is consistent with the regular service, with scanning costs at $.19/negative, $.24/slide, and $.27/print. It takes four to six weeks to complete the ScanCafé process, from the time the customer sends in their media to when they receive their scanned prints.
