August 10, 2005 - Sanyo has announced that they will open a digital camera manufacturing plant in Vietnam on September 13. The plant, operated by Sanyo’s Vietnamese subsidiary, Sanyo DI Solution Vietnam, will initially produce 3,000 cameras a month, with output expected to expand to 10,000 units a month within a year.
