Focal length: 4.9mm (27mm equiv.) This shot was taken in the Smart Auto mode of the camera, with the auto focus on the multi spot mode. However, the camera failed to detect the statue, instead focusing on the tree and setting a rather wide aperture. As a consequence, the face of the statue is out of focus. |

Focal length: 22.5mm (125mm equiv.) This shot of some of the local wildlife was taken at the longest zoom setting of the TL225. Although the image is acceptably sharp in the center of the frame, it gets a little soft at the edges. |

Focal length: 4.9mm (27mm equiv.) This image was shot in extremely low light. In program mode, the camera basically couldn’t handle it; the max shutter speed of 1 second and widest aperture of f/3.5 produced an underexposed image. Still, the color is acceptable and the noise is low. We tried a similar shot in Night scene mode (which allows an 8-second shutter speed), but it didn’t work; the camera seemed to lock focus at infinity. |
