Samsung Digimax A503 Released
Las Vegas, Nevada, January 5, 2006 – Samsung released the Digimax A503 in its simple and affordable line of digital cameras today. With its 5 megapixel CCD, the A503 is a bare necessities type of model. It has a fixed lens with 5x digital zoom and a 2-inch LCD screen, which is small by today’s standards. Still, the Samsung A503 aims to be user-friendly and competitive for the low end of the point-and-shoot market.
For a retail price of $139, the Samsung A503 doesn’t have manual controls but does include the following 7 scene modes: Night, Landscape, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, and Beach & Snow. This Digimax model also has a special effects button for users who want their pictures to look like negatives or desire a red, green, or blue tone. Users can also select from 9 different photo frames to attach to their photos before directly printing to a PictBridge enabled printer via the USB cable.
Despite its low-end status, the Samsung Digimax A503 still comes with 32 MB of internal memory. Its body is compact, yet shaped similarly to a smashed pipe. It does have an ergonomic finger grip. The body comes in black and silver colors and will be available this month for $139.
