July 17, 2007 – Yesterday, Samsung Electronics Corporation announced the new executive vice president of its memory division.
According to Reuters, Mr. Cho Soo-in will replace Mr. Chang-gyu, who had been leading both the memory chip division and the semiconductor business. Mr. Chang-gyu will retain his semiconductor title when Mr. Cho Soo-in takes over the memory division.
Samsung, the largest technology company outside the United States, announced Friday that it has seen a drop in net profit due to steep declines in computer memory chip prices, Reuters said. Its stock fell 2.19 percent yesterday after the announcement.
