- Flash drive maker Pretec will be the first to manufacture a miCard. The "S-Diamond" comes just days after the MultiMediaCard Association’s announcement of the new miCard memory format. The miCard, or Multiple-Interface Memory Card, includes a direct USB connector, eliminating the need for an external card reader.

Pretec calls the S-Diamond card the “smallest USB flash drive in the world,” according to a company press release yesterday. The Pretec S-Diamond measures 21x12x1.95mm, about 18 percent smaller than current miniSD cards used in mobile phones.

The Pretec S-Diamond card will be offered in various capacities from 128MB to 8GB. It will debut this week at Computex 2007 in Taipei.
