Portfolio Software liveBooks|EDU Launches for Students

September 6, 2006 – Last week, software company liveBooks, Inc. announced a subscription based portfolio manager program called liveBooks|EDU.

“Students can go from no website to a fully-functional site in minutes,” stated the liveBooks’ press release. Geared for students and faculty, users can create Flash sites on their personalized URL. Users who may not have computer coding or design skills can upload JPEG or GIF files using a drag-and-drop method, then can immediately click a launch button for the site to go live.

Users can update their site as often as they like, with new photos or designs from a library of templates.

“Photography is a business and liveBooks|EDU will help students learn and appreciate the value of properly marketing and presenting their images,” said liveBooks Director Wes Riggins in the release.

Users can subscribe to liveBooks|EDU Lite (250 MB of storage) for a monthly fee of $29.95 or $325 for a full year. liveBooks|EDU Lite can hold up to three portfolio categories at 64 images each. liveBooks|EDU Deluxe (500 MB) can hold unlimited numbers of portfolio categories with a cap of 1,000 images each. A liveBooks|EDU Deluxe subscription is $59.95 per month or $699 for a year.
