May 31, 2007 – Adobe today released a plug-in for Photoshop CS3 Extended. The plug-in allows users to directly access free 3D content from the Google 3D Warehouse directly from the program.
“We were happy to collaborate with Adobe on the Photoshop Extended plug-in for the Google 3D Warehouse. With this plug-in, users of Photoshop CS3 Extended can participate in the 3D Warehouse community, giving them the ability to search, store, and share thousands of 3D models and content,” said Google product manager Mark Limber in a company press release today. “The Google 3D Warehouse repository, combined with Photoshop CS3 Extended, allows creatives, architects, manufacturers and others to find exactly what they need to bring their virtual worlds and conceptual designs to life.”
Like Photoshop CS3 Extended announced in March, the plug-in is geared for creative professionals, such as architects and manufacturers, for motion and image analysis. In addition to being able to directly download 3D images, users can submit their own 3D models. The 3D models open up as layers with rotate and texture edit features.
The Photoshop CS3 Extended plug-in for Google 3D Warehouse is available for download at http://labs.adobe.com. The plug-in is currently available for Mac operating systems. A Windows version is due out tomorrow, June 1.
