Sample Photos

In the following sample images, clicking on the larger image will download the full resolution original. Each photo is accompanied by four actual-size crops.

Landscape Sample

Focal length: 4.6mm
Aperture: f/4.0
Shutter: 1/320
ISO: 80

This photo of Davis Square was taken in Program mode on a sunny autumn day. You’ll notice that the camera handles fine detail well—even the swaying leaves. However, there were some troubles with overexposure.

Macro Sample

Focal length: 9.3mm
Aperture: f/3.5
Shutter: 1/80
ISO: 250

This photo was taken using the camera’s standard Macro mode. The background is sufficiently blurred and the foreground nice and crisp. There is, however, some blowout in the sunny background.

Color Sample

Focal length: 7.9mm
Aperture: f/3.2
Shutter: 1/60
ISO: 320

This is our standard color sample, shot using the X90’s Program mode and auto white balance.

Low Light Sample

Focal length: 9.3mm
Aperture: f/3.5
Shutter: 1/25
ISO: 1600

This is our standard low light sample photo, captured in our lab, under dim lighting conditions. The camera was placed on a tripod and set to Program mode. Then, a manual white balance was performed.

We had to apply a -2EV exposure compensation in order to prevent blowing out of the white flowers.
