Introduction

The Pentax Q is one of several new mirrorless systems launching this year and it differentiates itself from the pack in a big way: by being as small as can be. While the Q is not as thin as your typical point-and-shoot camera, its height, width and image sensor are all similar to your standard compact camera. That puts it at a bit of a disadvantage against other interchangeable lens cameras, but compared to other small cameras it offers the promise of custom, higher quality lenses that are suited to a specific need.
