Pentax Offers Optio T10 With 3-Inch Touch Screen LCD

February 15, 2006 – Pentax unveiled a new line of digital cameras today with the announcement of the 6 megapixel Pentax Optio T10. The ‘T’ signifies the large touch screen that Pentax included on the T10 and will include on future T-series offerings. The T10 has a 3-inch LCD screen that responds to the touch of a finger or the included stylus. This new Optio digital camera will be available for $349 in March.

The Pentax Optio T10 has a stylish aluminum housing that is quite compact at 3.7 x 2.3 x 0.8 inches. When loaded with its SD card and battery, the T10 weighs 5.5 ounces. The most unique aspect of the body is the camera’s touch screen, of course. The 3-inch LCD has 230,000 pixels and an anti-glare coating to keep reflections from blocking the view.

The 6 megapixel digital camera has a 3x zoom lens with maximum apertures of f/2.7-f/5.2. It has 9 scene modes and even more color filters and effects. Users can superimpose notes over images with the ‘stamp’ feature and draw on top of images in the playback mode. They can also frame pictures within the camera as well.

The Pentax Optio T10 is also PictBridge compatible, so users can easily print their creations.
