June 23, 2006 – Today, Pentax launched www.pentaxsportoptics.com, a new sports optics site that includes sections on birding, hunting, astronomy, travel and events.
The website is "focused on nature, the city, and the sky," according to Pentax’s press release. In addition to details on their binoculars, Pentax’s Sports Optics site offers links to non-profit organizations with a "focus on conservation efforts."
This sports optics site is the third in a recent series of Pentax microsites, designed to combine product marketing with useful hobbyist information. The website, www.h20camera.com, launched a year ago features specifics on Pentax's waterproof cameras along with tips for underwater photography. Pentax's other website, www.pentaxslr.com, provides product information on their digital single lens reflex cameras, while luring web browsers with a Pentax DSLR giveaway. All three microsites also have links to local dealers and online stores.
