Pentax Adds Optio E60

July 28, 2008 – With the introduction of the Optio E60, an inexpensive 10.1-megapixel compact camera, Pentax rounded out its holiday product lineup today. The pocket-size point-and-shoot features a 3x zoom lens (32mm-96mm equivalent) and a 2.4-inch LCD. It measures 3.9 x 2.3 x 0.98 inches and weighs 6.2 oz. with batteries (2 AA cells) and memory card. The E60 incorporates a variety of preset picture modes, face detection (up to 10 faces) and in-camera image editing. It offers manual focus and white balance setting, but lacks aperture-priority, shutter-priority or manual exposure controls. The E60 can achieve very high ISO levels – with image size throttled down to 5MP, the camera will shoot at up to ISO 6400. Powered by two AA batteries, the Optio E60 will be available in October for under $140.
