Jan. 8, 2008 - Panasonic announced here at CES it will develop a Lumix digital camera with wireless connectivity and connectivity with T-Mobile HotSpots and Google's online-sharing website, Picasa.
There's no word yet on exact specifications, a market price, or release date, but the Lumix camera will have the capability to directly upload photos from the camera to Picasa using T-Mobile's wireless service. The Lumix camera will come with a year of T-Mobile HotSpot service, which is available in more than 8,500 public locations and can cost up to $40 per month depending on the subscription plan.
"The new LUMIX will be the perfect digital camera for consumers who are accustomed to the benefits that wireless connections offer: speed and convenience," said Tokikazu Matsumoto, director of Panasonic AVC Networks Company’s Digital Camera Business Unit.
