Conclusion

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1

The DSC-TS1 from Panasonic has joined a market where a number of other manufacturers have already released water and crush proof cameras. It doesn't have quite the level of toughness of the Olympus 1030SW, and will have a hard time settings itself apart from the rest of the market, especially at the $400 price point. That said, it appears to be quite a competent camera with a good variety of controls.
