Olympus Updates Firmware on Stylus 710

April 13, 2006 – The Olympus Stylus 710 won’t be lost in translation any longer. The manufacturer issued a firmware update last week that updates the languages offered on the camera. The 710 originally came with English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese languages. The version 1.1 update changes some of the English and Portuguese phrasing and adds German, Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish to the mix. The firmware upgrade also improves the multi-print function when the Stylus 710 is connected to a PictBridge compatible printer.

The all-weather Olympus Stylus 710 has 7.1 megapixels and 28 automatic modes. The body is plated in 24K gold and then coated in an outer platinum alloy to keep the shine pretty and scratch-proof. The back of the body has a 2.5-inch LCD screen with Bright Capture technology. The Olympus Stylus 710 was introduced in January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The slim digital camera was released the following month.
