Olympus E-300 Firmware Update

March 28, 2005 – A bit more than a month after receiving its first firmware update, the Olympus E-300 now has a version 1.2 upgrade available. Users can connect their EVOLTs to their computers (again) and download the firmware at olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/download/software/firm/e1. With the upgrade, the following improvements are available: Shading Compensation, Anti-Shock, Release Priority S, and Release Priority C. Consumers can also use SanDisk Extreme III CompactFlash cards, as their performance has now been verified.

Last month’s update improved the automatic white balance function and battery efficiency, among other things. The latest version also includes those advancements.
