Utilizing a 7.1 megapixel, 1/1.8 type (.55 type) CCD sensor, the C-7070 Wide Zoom contains ample resolution for cropping and enlarging images. The applied TruePic TURBO image processor works to ensure crisp, sharp images are recorded with minimal noise and increased speed. The camera is packaged with an all-glass, 27mm–110mm (equivalent) wide zoom lens, catering to the previously neglected group of digital wide angle enthusiasts.

Other Features
Automatic Pixel Mapping — Automatic Pixel Mapping (APM) is a means of re-formatting the dispersal of pixels across the CCD. When pixels become ineffective over time, users generally have to send the camera in to the manufacturer and have them re-format the sensor; however, the included APM feature is designed to re-map the pixels within the camera by pressing a button. Found within the camera menu, users can select the pixel mapping feature and re-configure the sensor for optimal sensitivity. According to Olympus, this feature only needs to be used about once a year and should significantly prolong the camera’s lifespan.

Noise reduction mechanism — For exposures exceeding 1/2 second in duration, a noise reduction feature is activated to suppress visible noise and distortion within the image.

PT-027 Underwater Housing — Avid divers and frequent vacationers can use the C-7070 in depths of up to 130ft. bellow the surface, using the camera’s underwater casing.
