April 19, 2007 - Octopz, an online collaboration software, launched this week at the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco. Octopz allows creative professionals, such as graphic artists, photographers, and designers, to markup and comment on a variety of digital media in real time.
Once a user logs in to Octopz, they can upload a file–including photos, videos, audio, and animation–and use the built-in tools to markup the file. Up to five people can comment at once on the media using Octopz’s text messaging, VoIP, or webcams. The participants’ comments and markups can be saved and accessed at later dates. Octopz requires no downloads - it is cross-platform and requires only a Flash-enabled browser.
