Nikon and Kate Moss Host Charity Auction

November 28, 2006 – Nikon and supermodel Kate Moss will host a benefit auction for The Sam & Ruby Charity on Dec. 1, according to a Nikon press release. The auction features signed photos by over 40 photographers and will benefit Thai children affected by the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia.

The Sam & Ruby Charity was organized in memory of mother and daughter Samantha and Ruby Rose Archer Fayet, friends of Moss, who were lost in tsunami that struck on Dec. 26 2004.  “I am truly honored that so many contributors are willing to join me to unite behind this important cause,” said Moss in the press release.

The auction will include original works by photographers including fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, celebrity photographer Steven Klein, and Bruce Weber known for his work with Calvin Klein and Abercrombie & Fitch. The auction finale will be hosted by famous New York City club owner Amy Sacco.

“We have worked with Kate in the past through our advertising campaign and are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with her again in support of such an admirable cause,” said Nikon director of communications Anna Marie Bakker in the press release.
