Nikon Mirrorless J1 Digital Camera Review

$649.99

Nikon's brand new mirrorless darling is not without its disappointments.

Introduction

The J1 is one of two mirrorless cameras Nikon is debuting in 2011, representing the first entry either of the "Big Two" camera companies have made into a market segment that has become quite crowded in the past three years. The J1 is the junior of the two models being released, with a plastic body, built-in flash, and interchangeable lenses. It's notably lacking a hot shoe, accessory port, or electronic viewfinder, but it's among the smallest interchangeable lens cameras yet developed. The J1 will launch in several colors along with four CX lenses—designed to work with the J1 and V1's unusually small image sensor.
