Digital SLR Blog Home > Digital SLR Blog Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens Announced Tanya Palta added on November 21, 2007 Nikon unveiled its new AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens.  For the uninitiated VR stands for Vibration Reduction, which uses a moving element within the lens to compensate for movements caused by shaky hands. The lens has been designed for Nikon DX-format digital SLR cameras and features Nikon’s compact Silent Wave Motor (SWM) technology for quiet and accurate auto focus performance. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens will be available beginning December 2007 at an estimated selling price of $199.
