Minox's digital camera line ranges from a 1-megapixel point-and-shoot to the 10-megapixel gold-plated Carat camera. The new Minox DC 6033 WP is waterproof, with a submergence level of up to 10 meters (32.8 feet). The 6-megapixel camera comes with a rubber exterior that resists impact, dust, water, sand, and salt.
"The new MINOX is therefore not just an absolute highlight for all extreme sports and outdoor enthusiasts, its performance is also valued in the industry and the building sector,' stated a company press release yesterday.
The DC 6033 WP is fitted with a multicoated Minoctar lens and has a fixed focal length of 42mm in traditional 35mm format. The camera comes equipped with a 2-inch TFT LCD and built-in flash. The camera features basic controls, including white balance and ISO sensitivity options, and preset scene modes, including Underwater, Portrait, Sports, Landscape, and Night-time. The Minox 6033 WP is compatible with SD memory and accepts AA batteries.
Minox also launched the DC 7022 slim digital camera today. Measuring 3.72 x 0.9 x 2.16 inches, the DC 7022 slim weighs 4.25 ounces. The camera has a black aluminum body and features a 7-megapixel CCD and a 4x optical zoom Minoctar lens. The Minox point-and-shoot is fitted with a 3-inch TFT LCD and possesses an electronic image stabilization system. The DC 7022 slim is compatible with SD and SDHC media and accepts Li-ion batteries.
