Microsoft to Release ICC Profile Management Tool for XP

September 14, 2005 - While users must wait up to a year for the OS-level support for color management promised in Windows Vista, Microsoft is planning to tide users over with the release of an ICC profile management applet for XP.

The free download, expected in October, will not expand the color management tools in XP, but it will allow users to manage ICC profiles with a central tool. The Color Control Panel PowerToy applet will let users easily add and remove ICC profiles, override the XP default sRGB color space, and quickly switch between different profiles for a device. Users can also use the PowerToy to display a 3D gamut plot and compare the effect of different profiles for the same device
