Light Crafts Releases LightZone 3.0
May 22, 2007 - Light Crafts yesterday announced an upgrade to LightZone photo editing software. Version 3.0 includes new Intelligent Styles, which simplify advanced photo editing processes, new tools, and improved batch processing.
LightZone aims to simplify photo editing and make it accessible to the majority of DSLR owners. According to the release, the software is simpler to use than Photoshop and offers additional features such as native RAW editing, integrated noise reduction and operational layers.
'Light Crafts is committed to putting advanced photo-editing capabilities in the hands of everyone,' said Georges van Hoegaerden, CEO of Light Crafts in the press release. 'LightZone 3.0, with its intelligent styles, gives photographers instant access to the most powerful photo editing capabilities available, at a price one third of its closest competitor."
The software’s Intelligent Styles allow users to "bring photos back to life" with minimal effort, according to the release. The styles include black and white conversions, high dynamic range, high contrast, and toning.
New tools features include the Re-light Tool, which allows users to adjust lighting in a photo, a History Pane, and RAW support for new DSLR cameras such as the Canon 1D Mark III. Batch processing has also been improved.
LightZone is Mac and Windows compatible. The full version of LightZone is $249.95, and an upgrade from the previous version is $49.95. The software is available for download from the company website.
