Light Crafts Releases LightZone 1.5.1

July 20, 2006 – Light Crafts, Inc. recently released their photo browser software LightZone version 1.5.1 to improve RAW image quality.

“LightZone is based on photographic principles [of the] Ansel Adams’ Zone System,” according to the Light Crafts website. The LightZone program retouches images in a reduced time, stated the Light Crafts website, to reach Ansel Adams’ technique for a full exposure range.

The Windows and Mac-compatible software update LightZone 1.5.1 corrects colors on RAW photos, states the website. The previous version 1.5 featured faster RAW processing. Version 1.5 also fixed Mac crashes when reading PNG images and fixed Windows crashes with ICC image corruption.

For existing Lightzone users, the update is free. The commercial LightZone version is retailed at $149.95. The software update and a free 30-day trial version are available for download at http://www.lightcrafts.com/products/lightzone/download.
