August 8, 2006 – Eastman Kodak Co. announced the addition of three new cameras to their zoom point-and-shoot product line, the C875, the C743, and the C433 zooms.

The EasyShare C875 is the newest premium model of the entry-level cameras. At 8 megapixels, the camera comes equip with a 5x optical zoom, all glass Schneider-Kreuznach lens. The EasyShare camera is fitted with a 2.5-inch LCD and has Kodak’s Perfect Touch technology.

The C875 is “perfect for the second time buyer,” according to today’s Kodak press release. For customers looking to upgrade their point-and-shoots, the new C875 allows consumers to get “closer to their subject and creates exceptional quality prints up to 30 inches x 40 inches,” stated the release.

The Kodak C875 has a Smart Scene feature. For less camera-savvy users or those on the go, the camera’s Smart Scene automatically selects a best mode out of 21 scene settings, including a children mode and party mode. The camera also has movie capabilities for VGA (640x480) video at 30 fps. Users can also print video stills from their cameras.

Along with the C875, Kodak also introduced the C743 Zoom as one of its higher end point-and-shoots. The 7.1 megapixel camera has a 3x optical zoom and 2.4-inch LCD. With video capabilities, the camera has 13 scene modes and 3 color modes.

Also launched today, the C433 is a 4 megapixel, 3x optical zoom camera. The C433 has a smaller 1.8-inch LCD and possesses the same scene and color modes as the C743. The C433 also comes with an undo delete function.

All three C-series cameras ship with Kodak EasyShare software version 6.0 for editing and sorting images after capture.

The C875 will be available at the end of August, priced at $299.95. The C743 and the C433 will be available in mid-September to retail at $199.95 and $119.95, respectively.
