Las Vegas, Nevada, January 7, 2007 – Kodak introduced the EasyShare C653 without as much fanfare as their other new cameras, the V1003 and V803 which took the Kodak spotlight today. As a middle tier C-series camera, the 6.1-megapixel C653 is priced at $129.95 and will be immediately available.
“The C653 is perfect for consumers searching for a remarkably simple camera that takes great looking pictures,” stated a company press release today.
The “simple camera” comes with a standard 3x optical zoom lens and 2.4-inch indoor/outdoor LCD, like the C643 before it. The Kodak EasyShare C653 comes with the Perfect Touch technology, 20 scene modes, including a Panorama stitch mode. The EasyShare C653 has a maximum sensitivity of 1250.
The new C653 is capable of VGA (640 x 480) movies at 10 fps and QVGA (320 x 240) at 20 fps, a downgrade from the equally priced C643 with VGA video at a faster 30 fps rate. The Kodak EasyShare C653 is compatible with SD and MMC cards.
