JVC GC-PX1 Hybrid Camera First Impressions Review

$1,223.00

With its video capability and 10-MP still mode, the PX1 splits evenly between the photo and video worlds.

Introduction

The GC-PX1 is a new camera from JVC that has a bit of an identity crisis. With its 1080/60p recording capability and 10-megapixel still image mode, the GC-PX1 splits its powers rather evenly between the photo and video worlds. The camera is currently awaiting release in Japan, but if sales do well we may see the PX1 hitting the shelves in the US in the near future.

Showcased alongside the GC-PX1 at CP+ was JVCs new 4K camcorder, which has yet to be given a modelname. The 4K model has a similar exterior shell and body design to JVC's professional GY-HM100U camcorder, but internally it is completely different.
