In Conjunction with Lexar, Kodak Unveils High Performance Memory Cards

Las Vegas, Nevada, January 3, 2006 - Kodak and Lexar Media, a NAND flash memory manufacturer, have teamed up to offer “Kodak High Performance” memory cards.

Kodak says the new cards are usable in any SD format digital cameras for capturing both stills and video. They can also be used in PDAs. As with all Kodak flash memory cards, the Kodak High Performance cards will also be usable at any Kodak kiosk.

Kodak High Performance cards are touted as being especially adept at rapid fire still-shooting capture, high frame rate video capture, and fast computer transfer. Kodak General Manager Claudio D’Amico says that the flash memory card, when used in a digital camera, “reduces lag time between shots and optimizes full-motion video capture capability on some cameras.”

The Kodak High Performance cards will be available in 512MB and 1GB sizes and should hit retailers by the end of January 2006. Kodak also implies that cards of greater capacity will be rolling out throughout 2006
