August 30, 2006 – Guests of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will be able to use complimentary Fuji digital cameras as part of their hotel stay at select locations. As part of an exclusive agreement announced last week, , Fuji and Rosewood partnered to allow hotel guests to use the FinePix F30 and FinePix V10 cameras, free of charge.
"Whether photographing children frolicking on a beach, a romantic moment over dinner, or a stunning view, guests at Rosewood's properties are just a click away from capturing a picture perfect vacation," stated Fuji's press release.
At six locations, Rosewood guests will be able to use the Fuji FinePix F30, introduced in February at a $399 price tag. Hotel goers can use the 6.3 megapixel camera, which has an ISO range up to 3200 and an anti-glare 2.5-inch LCD for poolside viewing or late-night dancing. Rosewood staff then downloads the images onto a complimentary CD for guests to take home as a vacation keepsake.
The complimentary FinePix F30 will be available the following Rosewood locations: Acqualina, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida; Caneel Bay, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands; Jumby Bay, Antigua, West Indies; Little Dix Bay, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands; King Pacific Lodge, Princess Royal Island, B.C., Canada; and Las Ventanas al Paraíso, Los Cabos, Mexico.
In four U.S. locations, Rosewood guests will be able to use the Fuji FinePix V10, a camera that originally retailed for $349 when it was introduced in January. The 5.1 megapixel, 3.4x optical zoom camera has a 3-inch LCD and ISO sensitivity of up to 1600. The camera also has a video game feature. In addition to the free digital camera use, hotel concierges will provide guests with photography tips, according to the release.
The FinePix V10 will be available at the following Rosewood locations: The Carlyle, New York City; CordeValle, San Martin, California; Inn of the Anasazi, Santa Fe, New Mexico; and San Ysidro Ranch, Santa Barbara, California.
Rosewood Hotels is not the only luxury chain to follow the digital trend. Hotels across the country are lending out digital cameras to their guests. In May, Hyatt Resorts launched their HyaTTeen Suite 16, a $2500 sweet 16 birthday package deal. Besides room service, On-Command movies, and a limo, the teenage guest gets use of one digital camera and a commemorative picture frame, states the Hyatt website.
The Marriott in Washington, D.C. sponsors an "Our Picture Me in DC" package. For a deal between $189 to $249, according to the Marriott website, guests get a metro pass, deluxe accommodations, and a one single-use digital camera per stay and can enter in a photo contest to win a free trip.
