GE to Offer Limited Edition Breast Cancer Awareness Camera

GE H855 digital camera Oct. 4, 2007 - General Imaging and the Home Shopping Network have partnered to release a GE H855 limited edition camera during October in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Home Shopping Network will donate a portion of its proceeds to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. The camera will be available in hot metallic pink or black, and will have a pink ribbon on the front.

The GE H855, nearly identical to the GE E850 digital camera introduced in February, includes 8 megapixels of resolution, 5x optical zoom lens, and a 3-inch LCD screen.

“It’s exciting to think that, the more cameras we sell, the greater our contribution will be,” said Rene Buhay, General Imaging’s senior vice president of Sales and Marketing for the Americas, in a company press release yesterday. “We hope that everyone whose life has been touched by cancer and who happens to be in the market for a digital camera will consider the H855.”

In addition to the camera, the bundle will include a black carrying case and an exclusive software package from ArcSoft that includes PrintCreations Greeting Card, PrintCreations Scrapbook, CD & DVD LabelMaker, DVD SlideShow, and PhotoImpression.

Consumers can purchase the camera during a broadcast on the HSN on Oct. 20 or on the station’s website, www.hsn.com.
