- Effective face detection - Lots of detail and sharpness for 6MP camera - Low noise levels (does show reduced sharpness at higher ISOs) - Flash coverage to 21.3 ft - Good LCD resolution - Long battery life - Surprisingly accessible technology - Fast auto focus system - Wide ISO range to 3200 in full-resolution - Wireless connectivity

Dislikes

- Flash placement - Disappointing color reproduction - Lots of barrel distortion - LCD doesn’t have wide viewing angle - Very plain looking - Poor audio and not many options in movie mode - Slow and limited burst mode - No true image stabilization - $399 retail price

 

The Fujifilm FinePix F31fd comes with the 6.3-megapixel Super CCD that has made the F-series known for its clean pictures. The sensor allows for pictures to be taken in just about any lighting with its wide ISO range up to 3200. The natural-looking i-Flash helps illuminate subjects too. The F31fd has trendy new technology that recognizes up to ten faces at a time and while tracking and focusing on them. This is great for portraits, and it keeps faces properly exposed. The new camera also has IrSimple technology for wirelessly communicating with other enabled devices. The techy digital camera comes as a jazzed up version of the F30. Fujifilm’s F30 was a good thing, and it is made better in the F31fd. The combination of cool technology, manual control, and all-around easy functionality makes the Fujifilm FinePix F31fd a standout digital camera.
