Focal length: 11mm Our color sample is composed of familiar objects with well-known colors to provide a real-world gauge of color accuracy. It was shot under fluorescent lighting, with automatic white balance and standard color mode. The camera is a little off in reds and purples, but does well with the other colors. |

One of the special EXR shooting modes that the F200EXR offers cuts the image size down to six megapixels, but attempts to significantly boost the dynamic range. While in this mode, the range can be set to 100%, 200%, 400% or 800%. We took a series of photographs of two setups at each available dynamic range step, with full-size images for each. D-Range 100% |

What you can see in both sample sets is that the d-range optimization is very good at pulling information out of over-exposed areas, but does almost nothing to help with under-exposure. It also increases the amount of noise present. You can click on any of the large images below to see them at full size. |
