Fuji F200EXR

First Impressions Review

3.7 The FinePix F200EXR from Fujifilm is the first camera to use a new generation of image sensor, which looks to have some nifty tricks up its sleeve. The EXR sensor offers full 12-megapixel resolution, but there's also the option to group pixels together, halving the resolution to 6-megapixel but dramatically improving the high ISO noise performance or markedly improving dynamic range. While we can't test these claims till we get a model into our labs, based on our brief hands-on at PMA, the rest of the camera doesn't look too exciting. The F200EXR will make or break depending on the new sensor's effectiveness. The camera is already available, for $399.95, and features a 28mm wide-angle lens with 5x zoom.
