Fuji Unveils S700 with 10x Optical Zoom


February 22, 2007 – In preparation for the PMA show next month, Fuji added to its "Serious" product line with the introduction of the SLR-styled FinePix S700. The 7.1-megapixel S700 features a 10x optical zoom lens and will retail for $249.95 when it debuts in March.
 
“Ideal for families seeking to kick it up a notch with a more advanced, compact SLR-style digital camera without losing operational simplicity, the FinePix S700 is feature-packed, yet affordable and easy to use,” stated a Fuji press release today.
As part of their advanced S-series, the Fuji S700 is capable of auto and manual control. The camera features a 7.1 megapixel count, 2.5-inch, 230,000 pixel LCD screen, and a 10x Fujinon zoom lens.

The Fuji S700 comes with many standard Fuji features including their Dual Shot Mode that takes flashed and non-flash photos in sequence. The S700 also has i-Flash (Intelligent Flash) technology that adjusts flash intensity and includes the Picture Stabilization mode which increases ISO and shutter speed to reduce blur. At full resolution, the camera touts a maximum sensitivity range of up to 1600 ISO.

The FinePix S700 has 14 shooting modes and a Motion JPEG movie mode at 640x480 resolution at 30fps. The camera is compatible with Fuji’s xD cards as well as SD memory, fitted for an recently updated xD/SD Media Compatible Slot. The Fuji S700 accepts four AA batteries.
