Fuji Announces Entry-level F480

The new Fuji F480 follows the F470 and F650, which are no longer being manufactured, although they are still being sold online and at retail outlets. Fuji oscillated between basic specifications on these F-series cameras with variations in megapixel count, monitor size, and price.
The new F480 boosts a higher megapixel count, equipped with an 8.2-megapixel CCD sensor versus the 6-megapixel count of its predecessors. The camera is fitted with a 4x optical zoom, less than the 5x of the F650 model. The latest edition does, however, offer wider shooting in a 28-112mm (35mm equivalent) zoom, expanded from the 35-105mm focal range on the F470.
The Fuji F480 touts a 2.7-inch, LCD, reduced from the F650’s 3-inch screen. The new camera carries over the 230,000 pixel screen resolution.
The FinePix F480 also includes 13 scene modes and a Picture Stabilization mode to correct for blur associated with camera shake and moving subjects. Users can capture video at QVGA quality (320x240 pixel resolution) at 30fps.
The Fujifilm FinePix F480 accepts Li-ion battery and is compatible with xD media. The camera will be offered in black.
