Former Intel Exec is New Kodak EasyShare GM

May 23, 2005 - In another high-level change in management Eastman Kodak Company has hired former Intel senior executive Sandra Morris as vice president and general manager of Kodak’s booming EasyShare and Digital Imaging Services Group.

'Kodak is a powerful international brand and the company has both the vision and the resources to make technology accessible to consumers worldwide,' Morris said. 'I'm excited to grow this business as an integral part of Kodak's digital portfolio.'

According to Kodak, as general manager of Digital Imaging Services, Morris will be responsible for overseeing and keeping the momentum going with Kodak’s on-line photo sharing and printing service- EasyShare Gallery (formerly Ofoto.) The Kodak EasyShare Gallery is the number one on-line service in the market with 20 million members and over 1 billion images stored, according to Kodak.

Morris will also be in charge of Kodak’s Mobile Service- its mobile phone-centric picture sharing unit.

'Sandra has a true passion for how technology works, and more importantly, how it can be used to improve the way people live, communicate, work and play worldwide,' said Bernard Masson, president of Kodak’s Digital & Film Imaging Systems business unit. 'She is a dynamic leader who understands the leading role that Kodak plays in the transformation of the imaging industry. We look forward to the contributions that Sandra will make to Kodak's successful implementation of its digitally oriented growth strategy.'

Morris is yet another hiogh profile move made by Kodak to revamp and reinvigorate the corporation's direction. In little over a week former Hewlett Packard executive Antonio Perez will become the chairman and CEO of the Rochester, New York-based manufacturer. Perez has been president and COO of Kodak since 2003.

Morris, during her 17 years with Intel, worked with the company’s multimedia and communications products, as well as online-related marketing and industry activities. Kodak touts Morris’ management expertise in a variety of technology disciplines, including software and Internet services technology development, marketing, communications.

Morris was also credited moving Intel forward into a true e-Corporation and resulted in cost savings that resulted in Morris being promoted to vice president of Intel in January 1999, and then as corporate vice president in January 2000.
