First Shots: Panasonic Lumix G1

September 22, 2008 - Here at Photokina in Cologne, Germany, we got the opportunity to shoot with a pre-production version of the Panasonic Lumix G1, the first camera based on the Micro Four Thirds format created jointly by Olympus and Panasonic (see news story here). We found it a surprisingly comfortable, full-featured camera, though we do wonder about the target audience. More on that when we post our full First Impressions Review later this week. In the meantime, wanted to share these sample photos from our German adventure. Panasonic asked that we restrict the posted images to 640 x 480, though rest assured the camera shoots at somewhat higher resolution (12.1 megapixels, in fact).
