Pentax OptioWP First Impressions Review

First Impressions Review

This review is organized into 12 pages

Pentax’s new amphibious OptioWP hit the digital camera scene at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas a few days ago. Within its compact, cell phone-esque design, the camera’s main draw is its underwater feature; the Pentax OptioWP can reach depths of up to 5. This model is an upgrade from the Pentax OptioWR, which could only submerge in water up to 3 feet. The durable point-and-shoot has a built-in 3x optical zoom lens that remains within the body of the camera. The OptioWP is slated to grace store shelves in late March or possibly April. The retail price for the 5-megapixel camera is estimated to be $399, according to Pentax employees.
